Baby soup made with summer vegetables 6 months and beyond
Zucchini soup is a soup that you can prepare practically in summer. Babies' meals are usually not prepared by mixing excess ingredients. The supplementary food period is a period in which babies also learn the tastes of the foods they eat. Your baby tells you by turning down foods that he doesn't like because he can't explain the situation verbally or that bothers him in some way. If such situations persist for a long time, it is useful to consult your doctor when you go to the physician control by taking notes.
Baby soup ingredients
2 meals
- 1 small size gum zucchini
- 1 small potato
- Half a small artichoke
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped dill
- 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cups of water
Note: If you don't have artichokes at home, you can use another vegetable instead. Carrots can be a suitable vegetable.
Preparation
- All material is thoroughly washed.
- The outer part of the zucchini and the potato is peeled and diced.
- If you bought the artichoke peeled, you just need to wash it and finely chop it.
- All the ingredients are put in a small saucepan with 2 cups of water and cooked over medium heat.
- After cooking, dill is added to it.
- The soup pulp taken from the stove is crushed so that it does not remain and passed through the strainer.
- The pulp needs to be kept in the soup, not thrown away. You can also do this process using the blender for a short time. Since artichokes are a fibrous food, it may be necessary to use a blender to break it down. It must be crushed hard so that it does not come into the baby's mouth. However, instead of using the blender for a long time to make the soup completely smooth, use it for a short time.
- Finally, when you add extra virgin olive oil to the soup, your soup is ready. You can serve it at room temperature.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Enver Mahir Gülcan's note:
Zucchini contains potassium, sodium, vitamin A, vitamins of group B, vitamin C and is rich in fiber. It contains iron and calcium. It has a long season from May to the end of September. It is an ideal vegetable to prevent constipation in children. Zucchini should be consumed after purchase, if possible, on the same day or within 3-4 days so as not to lose its nutritional values. Consuming it in a short time will prevent the loss of vitamin C. Since vegetables lose their vitamin value while cooking, it is ideal to cook fresh food daily by shopping as much as possible. Dill should be finely chopped so that it does not stick to the baby's mouth and throat, and fed well into the soup. It helps in eliminating gas problems.
